Established in the Azores in 1941, SATA has at its core the depth of the Azorean soul and its mission was, as it is today, to serve the people of the Azores, break their isolation, and shorten the distance between the islands of the archipelago and between the islands and the rest of the world.
SATA is today a tourism group of air services composed of companies engaged in activities related to the air transport of passengers and cargo. In addition to two airlines, one with a regional focus and the other with an international dimension, the SATA universe is completed by SATA Airport Management, responsible for managing various airport infrastructures in the Azores archipelago.
